As we move into the early months of 2026, we’re reaching out to our incredible clients and supporters with two simple requests that help keep small businesses like ours thriving:
If you’ve worked with Nordic Colors Painting — whether it was last season or five years ago — we’d be honored if you took a minute to share your experience. Your reviews not only help us grow, they also help your neighbors find a local painting company they can trust.
And if you’ve been thinking about painting the exterior of your home, now is the time. February, March, and April offer some of the best painting conditions of the entire year in Sonoma County — and schedules are starting to fill.
We’ve been painting homes across Sonoma County for more than 37 years — and while tools and techniques have evolved, the most powerful form of marketing is still the same: word of mouth.

Even just a few words about what you liked, what we painted, or how the process went can make a big impact. We read every review and often share them with our team during morning check-ins.

We get it — most people don’t associate February with painting. But in Sonoma County, that’s actually a mistake. The early spring months (February through April) are often the smartest time to schedule your exterior paint project.
Here’s why:
1. Perfect Temperatures for Paint to Cure
Paint doesn’t like extremes. When it’s too hot, paint can dry too quickly and cause cracking or peeling. When it’s too cold, paint may not cure at all.
Sonoma County’s average daytime temperatures in February, March, and April fall right in the sweet spot — generally between 50–70°F. This allows paint to cure slowly and evenly, creating a long-lasting, smooth finish.
2. Low Humidity = Better Adhesion
Humidity can cause moisture to get trapped under paint, leading to bubbling, streaks, or mold. In early spring, we usually see low to moderate humidity, which allows paint to adhere properly and perform well over time.
The result? Fewer touch-ups and better durability.
3. Less Foliage = Easier Access
Before shrubs and trees leaf out for the season, painters have much better access to your home’s exterior walls, trim, and hard-to-reach areas. That means a cleaner job, faster results, and less risk of trampling plants.
4. Fix Winter Damage Early
Winter weather — even mild — can leave behind small cracks, stains, or moisture damage. Early-season painting allows us to identify and repair those issues before the summer heat makes them worse.
If your paint is peeling, fading, or you’ve noticed dry rot or staining, don’t wait. Getting ahead of the curve now can save thousands in repairs later.
5. Beat the Summer Rush
Every year, we see the same trend: calls start pouring in around late May. By June, many contractors (us included) are already booking 4–8 weeks out. Spring is the ideal time to paint if you want better scheduling options and more one-on-one attention.
Plus, if you’re planning to sell or host events this summer, getting it done early ensures everything is ready in time.
